Qatar Red Crescent and UNICEF sign agreement to rehabilitate water facilities in Iraq
The Qatari Red Crescent and the UNICEF have signed an agreement to rehabilitate water and sanitation facilities in the Iraqi province of Nineveh. This follows the tenth regional conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Baghdad. The agreement, signed by Qatar Red Crescent Secretary General Ali bin Hassan Al-Hammadi and UNICEF Deputy Representative in Iraq Hamida Ramdani, aims at enhancing cooperation over humanitarian projects in Nineveh governorate. It will impact some 1,530,000 residents of Mosul and its surrounding areas. The departments of health and water and the Directorate of Education in Nineveh will also coordinate to carry out humanitarian projects.
