Iraqi judicial council says will meet to implement amended elections law
Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council said it would meet on Sunday (June 10) to implement the amended elections law approved by Iraqi parliament yesterday. The judicial council released a statement on Thursday saying it will select the judges who will carry out the duties of the Council of Commissioners of the Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), who will not participate in the recount. “The judges will supervise the manual recount of the votes,” the statement read.
