KRG PM discusses post-election Iraq with us ambassador Silliman
US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliman met on Saturday with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani in Erbil to discuss the post-election Iraq. Both sides discussed a recent bill passed by the Iraqi Parliament that orders nationwide manual recount of votes cast in May 12 election. “They emphasized on the need for unity among the parties to bring the political process to success in Iraq and wished for the current issues to not hinder efforts to form a new Iraqi government,” KRG website reported.
