Air blockade on Sulaimani airport from Tehran lifted after nearly eight months
An air blockade to the airspace between Suleymani and Tehran airports was lifted on Sunday (June 10) and flights resumed after nearly eight month halt. Tehran severed Kurdistan Region’s air links to the outside world in late September after the region voted overwhelmingly for independence in a non-binding referendum, which was rejected as illegal by the central government.
