US working with PUK, KDP to create united position in gov't talks: report
The London-based newspaper al-Hayat reported on Tuesday that the U.S. is working with Kurdish parties to create a unified front during the negotiations to form a federal government in Baghdad. The US ambassador, Douglas Silliman, met with Deputy Secretary-General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Kosrat Rasul Ali, who agreed that it was important that the Kurds operate on a joint basis and agree to a common strategic plan during negotiations over the composition of the new government.
