Police say Kirkuk-Erbil road reopened
A main road between Erbil and Kirkuk has been reopened following an order from Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, a spokesman for Kirkuk police said. Kirkuk-Erbil road has been closed for eight months since the Iraqi forces launched an operation to retake Kirkuk province from Kurdish forces last October. The main bridge connected Kirkuk and Erbil in Pirde was destroyed during the operation.
