KDP Won't Participate in Kirkuk Elections Unless the Province is stabilized
The ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has made it clear that it would not participate in the provincial elections in disputed Kurdish province of Kirkuk unless the security and military situation is normalized in the area. Kamal Karkuki, head of the KDP leadership council in Kirkuk, revealed that all sides, including the US and the international community, are willing to delay the vote process until stability is guaranteed.
