Meeting between protestors, Council of Representatives ends up without result
A meeting between Iraq’s legislative leadership and representatives of demonstrators has concluded without any public result. An NRT Digital Media reporter said that the protestors’ representatives presented several demands to Speaker Muhammad al-Halbusi and the federal government, including providing job opportunities for graduates of institutes and universities and giving loans to families of “martyrs,” or those killed in service of the nation. The protestors also called on the government to stop demolishing the illegal houses that belong to poor families.
