Iraqi President Names Mohammed Allawi as New Premier
Iraqi President Barham Salih named on Saturday Mohammed Allawi as the new prime minister of the country. Allawi, who previously served as Minister of Communications, will l replace caretaker PM Adil Abdul Mahdi, who had resigned from his position since mid-November to address the evolving situation. Allawi is now a leader for the interim government and he has the choice to form a new cabinet within 30 days before early legislative elections are held.
